Our Nature Area & Pond

Completed in 2000 by Green Space volunteers

Our Nature and Pond area has settled in very well since its installation. There are now

lots of wildlife living in our pond and the surrounding grounds. We have also planted

 shrubs, trees and wild flowers to attract butterflies and other insects.

Living in our Pond we have Fish, Frogs and tadpoles, Newts, Pond Skaters, Water Boatmen, Water Snails and lots of other Mini Beasts.

Our school Environmental Club use two raised planter beds to grow organic salad, vegetables and tomatoes. We have also planted bulbs, primulas and wildflowers.

This year a team of volunteers will be installing fencing around our pond, a new pond dipping station, planting insect friendly plants and paving the path around our nature area.
