Phonics Help

Children begin to learn phonics (sounds) in Early Years, both Nursery and Reception, following the Letters and Sounds Programme.

Phonics is a method of teaching children to read by linking sounds (phonemes) and the symbols that represent them (graphemes, or letter groups). Phonics is the learning-to-read method used in primary schools in the UK today. Once children begin learning sounds, they use this knowledge to read and spell words. Children can then see the purpose of learning sounds.

Below are some resources for you use to help your child with their phonics.

If you have any worries or concerns please come and see your child's class teacher.
